Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding an attic piano and becoming enthralled by the sounds it would produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music more as a hobby than a profession. The Aksnes family encouraged her to compose. Alongside Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. After her mom said that her songs could not only help her achieve fame and also inspire others to see their significance to the world and appreciate what can be done with them, she decided to begin performing publicly. She began playing the piano at age six and creating music when she was nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. There was no way she could have imagined to become Aurora. Her sole passion is to write music. To her music, is the best method of expressing anything.
